Tanja Dowe
Managing Director

Tanja Dowe has 12 years of experience in serving Life Science companies in business development, market intelligence, partnering and large scale project management. Ms Dowe joined the company in 2002 through a merger with her company and she became the CEO of Innomedica in 2009. Prior to joining Innomedica, Ms Dowe ran BioSolutions, practicing market intelligence and project management. She has worked in Canada and in the USA analysing markets and industry sectors for several companies. Ms Dowe has a MSc degree in Applied Microbiology and Bioprocess Engineering from the Helsinki University of Technology (Aalto University).


Anna Kalmi
Vice President, Japan Licensing

Ms. Kalmi has 12 years of experience in international licensing and business development operations in Life Sciences. She has accomplished several successful deals between Europe, USA and Asia for client companies. Ms Kalmi provides strategic licensing and business development support for globally well-established life science companies as well as young venture companies with innovative products and technologies. Ms. Kalmi is native Japanese speaker with Japanese basic education. She has deep understanding of Japanese business culture and market environment. Prior to current position, she worked with product concept development in a global technology company. She has a Master’s degree in Physics from the University of Turku, Finland.


Johanna Furuhjelm
Manager, Market Intelligence

Johanna Furuhjelm has extensive expertise in market analysis for science based innovations. Dr Furuhjelm is in charge of Innomedica’s market intelligence and EU project services. She provides support for Innomedica’s clients’ business development projects and is the coordinator of Tekes SymBio programme for Industrial Biotechnology. Before joining Innomedica in 2007 Dr Furuhjelm worked as a Post Doctoral Scientist in cancer research at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Helsinki and conducted her PhD work at the Institute of Biotechnology. She has a Master’s degree in Genetics and PhD in Biosciences with emphasis on cellular and molecular biology.

Musashi Kudo
Project Assistant

Musashi Kudo assists Innomedica’s client projects especially related to the Japan market, providing information searches, market analysis and translation support. Mr Kudo has a Bachelor degree in bioscience and biotechnology from the Fukui Prefectural University in Japan, and is currently in the Master’s program. Previously Mr Kudo has worked on a research project based on Endostatin; a promising protein effective on cancer at the University. The target has been to establish and improve the protein expression system using E. Coli and bioassay of Endostatin.

Yoritsugu Noro
Senior Advisor, Japan

Mr Noro has extensive experience at a senior level in the Japanese Pharma Industry. Formerly he was engaged in a senior position at Taisho - one of the largest OTC Pharma companies globally. Mr Noro has more than 40 years of history with international sales, business development and licensing.

Tom Edelman
Legal Counsel

Tom Edelman has provided legal services within the Life Science field since 1997. During his career with global pharmaceutical, javascript:;diagnostic, biomaterial, medical device and other life science companies he has assisted numerous clients in their contractual matters regarding deal structuring, drafting and negotiation. Mr Edelman is responsible for both Innomedica’s internal legal affairs and serving the clients in their legal questions related to intellectual property and know-how licensing agreements, R&D agreements, clinical trials agreements and other commercial contracts. Mr Edelman holds a LL.M. degree from the Faculty of Law at the University of Turku.



Solveig Sjöblom (On maternity leave)

Solveig Sjöblom joined Innomedica in 2006. Dr. Sjöblom works in the Project Management & Business Development team, with responsibilities in Innomedica’s programme coordination and EU project services. Additionally Dr. Sjöblom leads projects in the business development services. Before joining Innomedica , she has conducted research at the University of Helsinki. Dr. Sjöblom has a doctoral degree in microbial genetics and has completed studies in science communication.







Matti Juvonen
Manager, Business Development
Matti

Matti Juvonen has 10 years of global sales and business development experience in IVD diagnostic and laboratory equipment fields. Prior to that he worked for years in other managerial sales positions in other industries. His responsibilities include servicing IVD diagnostic and medical device companies in international distribution / partnering arrangements, developing business plans and providing market analysis services. Mr Juvonen has a Master´s degree from the Helsinki School of Economics (Aalto University) with marketing as major. He joined Innomedica in 2010.


Satu Järvenpää
Executive Assistant

Satu Järvenpää joined Innomedica in March 2008 as Executive Assistant. Her main responsibilities are administrative tasks and supporting the management team. Prior to joining Innomedica she has worked 12 years at Nokia Ltd in similar positions. Ms Järvenpää has a Bachelor degree from the Faculty of Law at the University of Turku.





Jim Phillips
Senior Advisor, UK, France













Jim Phillips has over 20 years healthcare industry experience, and is a qualified physician with an MBA from Cass Business School. Mr Phillips worked for Johnson & Johnson and Novartis in senior executive roles, and he was the founder & chief executive officer of Talisker Pharmaceuticals Ltd, which was acquired by EUSA Pharma Inc in July 2006 giving investors a successful exit. He also took Bone Medical Ltd through its oversubscribed IPO in Australia in 2004 (as Chief Executive). He has held a number of other international board level roles (e.g. West Sussex Health Authority, Lifegard Technologies Ltd, CRF Inc, Diabetology Ltd, EUSA Pharma Inc, OPi S.A., Vantia Ltd) and he has extensive experience in business development in pharmaceuticals, and in developing early stage ventures.
